SARA LEE BAKERY TO CLOSE DEERFIELD PLANT IN 1991; HEADQUARTERS,
R&D, TECH SERVICES TO REMAIN IN CHICAGO AREA
DEERFIELD, Ill., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sara Lee Bakery announced today that it intends to close its 26-year-old production facility in Deerfield by March 1, 1991.
Sara Lee Bakery headquarters, research and development and technical services will remain in the Chicago area, said C. Steven McMillan, senior vice president of Sara Lee Corporation (NYSE: SLE) responsible for U.S.-based food operations, and chief executive officer of Sara Lee Bakery. Sara Lee Bakery is a division of Chicago-based Sara Lee Corporation.
