LIE detectors are to be tested by more insurers to trap cheating customers who rob the industry of more than [pound]3 billion a year.
Tests are being introduced by companies dealing in car, home and travel insurance in a bid to curb the ten per cent of claims they believe are fraudulent.
The lie detector machines eavesdrop on customers' phone calls to pick up telltale signs of fraud.
