A representative of Taubman Co., the developer that has wanted to build a mall on 110 acres it owns between North Barrington and Hawthorn Woods said Tuesday the company is "very disappointed" the villages have scaled back the possibility of a mall on the site.
Taubman executive Bruce Heckman said the company instead might pursue talks with Lake County officials. But one county board member from Hawthorn Woods said such discussions might not prove very fruitful either.
On Monday, both town's village boards agreed to scale back parameters for any shopping center that might be proposed for Route 12 ...
