MORE than a million subscribers to ITV Digital last night found themselves footing the bill for the company's spectacular collapse.
All are expected to lose money, with the 200,000 who paid their [pound]169 annual fee in advance the worst hit.
As anger grew over the fiasco, the Government and television chiefs were accused of contributing to the company's failure with 'false promises' over the digital 'revolution'.
After ITV Digital's 25 paid-for channels were switched off yesterday its call centre in Plymouth was swamped with enquiries from confused customers.
