The Silk Road Project has commissioned new pieces from twenty composers from countries along the Silk Road, works that unite musical traditions of the East with the Western classical genre. Here we highlight a selection.
Tryst. Kim, Jeeyoung "Jacqueline" (b. 1968, Korea). Kim is the youngest of the composers commissioned by the project. After early training in Seoul, she completed graduate studies in composition in the United States and is currently on fellowship at Harvard. Her works have won numerous awards.
