The story about Bishop William Bullock of the Madison Catholic Diocese in the April 14 Wisconsin State Journal glided over his most controversial decision, the closing of Holy Name Seminary in 1995. The story, just like the Bishop's decision to close Holy Name, was wrong.

The story mentioned Holy Name only once, stating that it was closed in part because "it sent just six men into the priesthood in its 20-year history."

Even a little fact-checking would have disclosed that Holy Name opened in 1965 and closed in 1995, a 30-year existence. Moreover, Holy Name sent many more than six young men on to the priesthood during its ...
