In criticizing three Madison legislators who urged the City Council not to approve Kathryn Vedder as the new city health director because it might further delay merger of the city and county health departments, Mayor Sue Bauman said the three lawmakers - all former members of the Dane County Board - "are looking to bring to fruition something that started when they were on the County Board."
She may have their motives right, but she's sure got her dates wrong: State Reps. Mark Miller and Terese Berceau were in college at the time the merger talk began. State Rep. Mark Pocan was in grade school.
