May 7--The Yawkey Foundation, flush with cash from the sale of the Boston Red Sox, yesterday bestowed the largest gift in its history, donating $25 million to Massachusetts General Hospital for a 10-story outpatient treatment center.
The gift, the largest ever received by Mass. General, is a fund-raising coup, particularly since the foundation has been more closely associated with and contributed more heavily to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
