Article: Hoped-for increase in export of caustic soda in 2002. (Special Report).

The output of caustic soda in China was 7.382 million tons in 200, a rise of 10.86% over the previous year, and the growth rate was 9.05 percentage points down compared with 2000. The net export amount was more than 598 000 tons, a rise of 145%. The apparent consumption was 6.811 million tons, a rise of 5.1%, and the growth rate was 15.5 percentage points lower than in 2000.
