Article: Burbank and Glendale, Calif., Populations Rise 1.4 Percent.

May 8--The populations of Glendale and Burbank grew by about 1.4 percent over the last year -- to reach 200,157 and 102,835 respectively in 2002 -- according to newly-released statistics from the state Department of Finance.

The two cities' population growth is slightly below Los Angeles County's overall increase of 1.7 percent, with Burbank gaining 1,423 residents in 2001 and Glendale adding 2,897 people.

Glendale's director of finance, Bob Franz, said with the city fully developed, the modest growth is in line with what he has seen in the last few years.
