The search for Planet X is an old tale; it is also a new tale. It's one that has a beginning, an ending, a new beginning, a new ending, another new beginning, and what appears to be another ending. That's because each time we find "Planet X," another one seems ready to take its place. Each search for a Planet X has been the scientific equivalent of, aptly, an X-Files investigation -- the kind you see on TV. And, like the subject matter in some of these TV episodes, Planet X is a mysterious body lurking in the darkness, invisible but making its presence "felt."
