For most visitors, taking a trip to Fort Ontario is like visiting the past. For Dianne Costello-Leonard, it's like visiting her past.

Costello-Leonard's family lived in Fort Ontario more than five decades ago.

So did about 26 other families of soldiers who had returned from World War II to face a housing shortage in the city of Oswego.

Now, Costello-Leonard is organizing a reunion of those families for Aug. 24 at Fort Ontario.
