You don't hear those two names in the same sentence that often, but Rudd is on the verge of becoming the Cal Ripken of his sport.
Rudd tied Terry Labonte's record for consecutive starts with No. 655 on Sunday, and he likely will have the iron man distinction to himself when he heads to Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600 on May 26.
``I'm very proud of this record,'' Rudd said. ``To me, it says I've worked hard and have been determined to do what I'm hired to do each week. Hopefully, that says something good about me personally . . .
