Tom Forseth says every dairy farmer should attend an exhibit like the Fancy Food Show in Chicago.
"They'd learn how much is involved in marketing the milk they produce," says Forseth, a self-professed small dairy producer with only 40 cows.
Forseth was one of 50 people who took advantage of a recent offer by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to be a part of a bus tour to huge McCormick Place to take a close-up look at the "value added" food industry. The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and UW-Extension also helped with the trip.
