Candidates Critique New Initiative
With the exception of Harvey rosenfield's own choice for insurance commissioner, none of the candidate for the position support the Voter Revolt chiefs new initiative seeking to create a state-run auto insurance monpoly in California.
According to the terms of the initiative, beginning in 1991 the elected insurance commissioner each year would be required to certify that private auto insurance prices were in compliance with Proposition 103's originally mandated rates of 20 percent below November 1987 levels, after adjustment for inflation, and that the number of uninsured motorists in the state was under 15 percent of the ...
