My salvation is knowing that if it's tough going on the Fox Chain, I can always score a fish or two on one of the cooling lakes in our region.
My two favorites are LaSalle and Heidecke Lakes, about an hour's drive from my driveway.
Yes, I fantasize about living closer to these wonderful angling spots, but it's not in the cards.
