American Management Corp. has decided to stay in Conway and build a six-story office building there rather than relocate to the River Market area of downtown Little Rock.
AMC, a 200-employee insurance underwriting company, had been the subject of a bidding war between the two cities, which both offered a variety of financial incentives. The Conway City Council promised tax incentives, Act 9 bonds and a new parking deck, incentives that "obviously ... played a role in our decision to stay here," president Stephen Strange said in a press release.
