CFC phaseout creates many challenges for supermarket refrigeration industry
As we are well aware, the chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) issue offers the supermarket industry new challenges and affects us in two manners.
The first area of concern covers the refrigerants used in the mechanical heat transfer of our systems; the second area impacts the insulation systems used in the thermal barrier of display case merchandisers.
Refrigerated mechanical systems previously utilized CFC-12 and CFC-502(-115);the supermarket industry is addressing the short-term solution by utilizing HCFC-22 and CFC-502.
