CONGRESS PROCLAIMS JULY 19 AS 'FLIGHT ATTENDANT SAFETY
PROFESSIONALS' DAY'
WASHINGTON, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Yesterday, the House approved H.J.R. 533, and on Monday, June 18, the Senate approved S.J.R. 278 proclaiming July 19, 1990, as "Flight Attendant Safety Professionals' Day."
The Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, the nation's largest flight attendant union, was responsible for mobilizing the passage of this legislation.
Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Reps. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) and Jim Lightfoot (R-Iowa) introduced resolutions in the Senate and the House respectively to designate July 19 ...
