UBS Warburg has reported that it has been expanding its mortgage- related businesses and gone on a hiring spree over the past month or so, putting it in position "to be the premier mortgage- and asset- backed firm on Wall Street."
Shahid Quraishi, previously at Bank of America, has been appointed managing director and head of asset-backed origination for UBS Warburg. UBS Warburg also has hired Paul Scialabba, Reggie DeVillers, Peter Faigl and Daniel Huang from Bank of America as part of its ABS team.
Separately, UBS Warburg said it had hired Mostifiz Mohammed, a senior asset-backed banker from Wachovia and Tamer El-Rayess, a principal finance banker from ...
