WASHINGTON -- Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today renewed his call for energy independence as gas prices rise, volatility in the Middle East grows, and Senate Democrat Leader Tom Daschle continues to thwart the will of the majority of senators who support domestic energy exploration in Alaska.
