PORTLAND, Ore. -- A decorative Western red cedar fence rail or bird feeder may once have been a transmission line pole helping to keep Northwest lights on.

The Bonneville Power Administration Transmission Business Line is recycling old wood transmission line poles. They're being re-manufactured into useful yard products and fences, some of which will be on display at BPA's "Earthday Expo at the Zoo," April 28 in Portland.
