With meticulous care and thoroughness Ken Farnhill analyzes guild activity in East Anglia, with special attention to those at Wymondham, a large parish southwest of Norwich whose population was perhaps 1,700 in 1525; Swaffham, a sizable parish southeast of King's Lynn whose population was almost 1,000 in 1548; and the Suffolk villages of Bardwell, northeast of Bury St. Edmunds, and Cratfield, near Halesworth.
