The clock is ticking for Immune Response Corp.

A company official said the biotechnology firm is exploring several financing options to keep it afloat past the end of this month when Immune Response is expected to run out of money.

The Carlsbad-based firm said earlier it has $2.7 million in cash.

The firm's quarterly burn rate is about $6 million, said Creighton Law head, head of investor relations at Immune Response.

Lawhead said Immune Response hopes to get the funding from a private placement, but also entered merger discussions with big drug companies.
