May 16--Anderson and Ketron island residents understand they often sacrifice urban amenities for solitude.
But recent delays caused by Pierce County's scheduled ferry maintenance are testing the patience of even the most laid-back passenger, said Brian Steel, an Anderson Island resident of three years.
"You can't live on the island without being inconvenienced," Steel said, while waiting at the Steilacoom terminal for the island-bound ferry. "But this is ridiculous."
