''Dirty Blonde'' is one of the best-written and accessible plays to come along in a while. The play, which opens tonight at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, combines a poignant romance between a shy and lonely couple and a biography of the flamboyant sex queen, Mae West.
Adinah (pronounced Ah-DEEN-a) Alexander, who plays the dual roles of Mae West and Jo, said she has been in love with the the script by Claudia Shear and James Lapine ever since it was sent to her to read for audition.
The New York producers were looking for someone to understudy Shear, who originated the two roles on Broadway.
