DuPage County officials have agreed to install orange fencing around a wetlands project on the far northwest side of Carol Stream after nearby residents complained the work was endangering neighborhood children.
One homeowner who lives along Dogwood Drive even filed a police complaint against the county after residents discovered workers spraying the 10-acre area with herbicides Tuesday morning.
The county did not inform residents of the work in advance, which violated a 1993 agreement struck by the homeowners association, the county and the village.
