Adversarial relationships in the supply chain are still dogging the progress of ECR Europe, warned co-chairs Luc Vandevelde and Antony Burgmans.
Speaking at the seventh ECR Europe conference in Barcelona, Unilever boss Burgmans said: "I'm proud of our achievements but sad about several things too."
Addressing almost 3,000 delegates from 54 countries, Burgmans added: "The very fact that you are all here today means you give us a mandate to continue. But adversarial relationships do persist more so than, naively, I had thought, and they drag down the quality of our industry."
