Produits Chimiques Auxiliaires et de Synthese (PCAS; Longjumeau, France) says it will double capacity of its acrolein derivatives plant at Mourenx, France and "significantly" expand its electronic chemicals unit at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, PQ. The projects form part of PCAS's previously announced expansion plan (CW, May 1, p. 8). "Our plan is to have sales of $300 million/year from 2004," says Jean-Pierre Stephan, president. PCAS's sales rose 27% in 2001, to [euro]177 million ($159 million) and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization were 25% higher, at [euro]30 million.
