May 23--Metro Atlanta's largest mall owner says it will build a mall in Henry County, one of the area's fastest-growing counties.
Simon Property Group, owner of Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, confirmed its interest in a mall site off I-75 at Ga. 20 in Henry County. North American Properties has assembled a 150-acre tract for a regional mall at that location.
"Given our commitment to Atlanta, we want to make sure we're there," said Michael P. McCarty, spokesman for the Indianapolis-based Simon. "We have numerous sites identified in Henry County."
