When I was a youngster growing up in Bowie, Texas, I spent one Saturday helping build a church in a nearby town. I didn't do much. I carried concrete blocks and pushed a wheelbarrow filled with concrete.
But I remember it.
Each time I go to Forestburg, I look for the Baptist church that I like to think I helped construct.
Similar memories will be built this summer by 23,000 young people as they rehabilitate homes in 89 cities in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada and nine other international locations. They are part of World Changers, an organization started by the old Brotherhood Commission of Southern Baptists in 1990.
