The Post-Standard this school year ran a series that reflected on elementary school education in Madison County. The series - "Making the grade" - revealed the learning and teaching experiences and challenges during a typical day at each level of learning, starting with kindergarten and ending in sixth grade. The following is a reflection on the series as a whole, looking at the progression of learning that takes place during elementary school.
