The Fayetteville Village Board last week hired Appel Osborne, a Syracuse landscape architect company, to design improvements to Triangle Park.
Under the terms of the contract, the village will pay Appel Osborne up to $17,000.
Trustee Inez Albanese said the landscape architects will submit at least three park designs and act as a consultant if the village hires a contractor to do the work. The improvements probably will not occur until next spring, she said.
Despite rumors to the contrary, the village board does not intend to make changes that will alter the nature of Triangle Park, Albanese said.
