Article: Sun as Software House.(Solaris 9)

Well, Sun's introduction of its latest operating system, Solaris 9, on Wednesday has left a lot of people scratching their heads and wondering what Sun is up to - or at least thinks it's up to - and how the heck it's going to monetize it.

The idea behind the event was apparently to set off a bunch of firecrackers and get folks to thinking of Sun, the stoutly irrepressible box shifter, as a software company.
