Two Dane County Board supervisors who voted in favor of a gravel pit in the town of Verona are fighting ethics charges brought by the leader of a citizen group against the pit.

Bill Keen told the county's Ethics Board Thursday night that Supervisor Lyman Anderson of rural Oregon and former Supervisor Carlton Hamre of the town of Vienna were biased and prejudiced when they voted in favor of issuing a conditional use permit to Payne & Dolan Inc. for a gravel pit near the Sugar River south of the city of Verona.
