ZINEDINE ZIDANE will miss France's opening two World Cup matches because of a thigh injury.
Zidane limped out of the holders' 3-2 friendly win over South Korea on Sunday, prompting fears he could miss the start of France's campaign.
And those fears have been confirmed by French Football Federation head Claude Simonet. He said he had been informed of Zidane's absence by the French party in South Korea.
