According to a three-part series in Rachel's Environment & Health Weekly [www.rachel.org; #691-693; April 2000], radiation from unnecessary diagnostic X-rays and nuclear waste/fallout is the major factor in the development of cancer. Researchers and medical doctors have been aware of the harmful effects of radiation since shortly after the discovery of X-rays in 1896.
