Paul Hollander, a native of Hungary, is professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His most recent book, Discontents: Postmodern and Postcommunist, was published earlier this year by Transaction Publishers. He is currently working on a study of the relationship between political beliefs and moral values among well- known contemporary intellectuals.
