The University of Notre Dame won its seventh straight Commissioner's Trophy as the top men's sports program in the Big East.
Syracuse finished next to last among the 14 teams on the men's side. The Syracuse women finished fifth behind Notre Dame, which won its sixth straight Commissioner's Trophy for women's sports.
The Orangemen are penalized on the men's side because they do not field teams in tennis, golf and baseball, three of the nine sports the Big East uses to count point values. Additionally, football is not counted because Notre Dame is not a member of the Big East in that sport. And the conference does ...
