May 29--The New Mexico State University Extension Service has planned a broad, five-day Pecan Orchard Management Short Course, June 3 to 7 at the Hilton Inn, to offer something to every pecan producer and processor.
Workshop courses will include:
Variety selection, pruning, nutrition, water management, weed and pest control, economics and marketing and field trips to valley orchards and a shelling plant, coordinator Esteban Herrera said.
It also will provide a translation service for Mexican producers and processors.
