COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two members of the rock band the Smithereens and the co-writer of one of their songs, "White Castle Blues" recently were inducted into the Cravers Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the White Castle corporate office in Columbus, Ohio, on May 9, 2002. White Castle president and CEO Bill Ingram presided over the ceremony.
Smithereens' lead guitarist Jim Babjak and drummer Dennis Diken joined their friend, Bob Banta, as honorees. In New Jersey in 1977, Banta and best friend Babjak decided to put their love of White Castle hamburgers to music and created the song, "White Castle Blues."
