May 30--DALLAS--Advocates of renewable energy and equal opportunity for gay workers were unable to win passage of their proposals when Exxon Mobil Corp. held its annual shareholder meeting Wednesday.
But shareholder activists were heartened by obtaining votes from more than 20 percent of Exxon Mobil's 7 billion common shares, up substantially from the single-digit levels attracted in past years.
