PRESIDENT BUSH AND CONGRESS PROCLAIM JULY 19 AS 'FLIGHT ATTENDANTS SAFETY PROFESSIONALS' DAY'; UNITED 232 FLIGHT ATTENDANTS TO PARTICIPATE

IN SIOUX CITY NEWS CONFERENCE

WASHINGTON, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On June 26, the House approved H.J.R. 533, and on June 18, the Senate approved S.J.R. 278 proclaiming July 19, 1990, as "Flight Attendant Safety Professionals' Day."

On July 10, President Bush signed the proclamation. The Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, the nation's largest flight attendant union, was responsible for mobilizing the passage of this legislation.
