What is a BFCU anyway?
Unless they were part of the in-crowd, most people on New York's Long Island could only guess. And chances are, they didn't bother.
Bethpage Federal Credit Union knew it had to do something if it wanted to attract more members to the $1-billion- plus financial institution.
"It's a small community here on Long Island-20 miles long and 20 miles wide-with 3 million people," said Wayne Grosse, executive vice president. "We weren't sure (the name) BFCU was serving us the way we wanted."
