FLINT'S Garry Houston, plagued by injury over the last 12 months, claimed a moraleboosting second place in the North Region's Northern Rock North East Masters at Maften Hall, Northumberland.
The 31-year-old, who plays out of Carden Park near Chester, shot rounds of 68-68-72 for an eight under par total of 208 to finish just a shot behind winner Neil Cheetham of Balborough Links and pick up a cheque for pounds 1,666.
Houston, frequently sidelined after two knee operations in the last 12 months, was second behind host club pro John Harrison, who led by four with a round to go after shooting 64-68.
