PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local PEMEX PETROQUIMICA (PPQ), a subsidiary of PETROLEOS DE MEXICO (PEMEX), currently operates a vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) plant with an installed production capacity of 200,000 metric tons per year (mt/y) at Pajaritos, Mexico. And, PPQ is now gearing-up to implement an expansion project.
In so doing, the company recently awarded a construction contract to Spain-based DURO FELGUERA. According to the terms of the turnkey award, the Spanish company will be responsible for upgrading production output by another 200,000 mt/y.
The cost to complete the undertaking has been pegged at $74,000,000. And, operational start-up ...
