PROJECT OVERVIEW:
US-based DOE RUN CO. has reportedly invested some $35,000,000 between 1998 and 2001 at the company's Cobriza copper mine and its La Oroya polymetallic smelter-refinery. The investment in question was made in order to comply with Peru's environmental adaptation and management program known as Pama. And, the company is now expected to invest a total of $173,000,000 between 2003 and 2006 in order to conform with the said plan.
