In 1960, one year after Fidel Castro took power, President Dwight Eisenhower imposed economic sanctions on Cuba.
Before a cheering audience of Cuban-Americans in Miami recently, George W. Bush became the 10th U.S. president to reaffirm that basic approach: no trade with Cuba until Castro either leaves power or allows free elections and adopts something resembling capitalism.
