No Minnesotan - least of all Mark Yudof - can feel good about the bundle paid to Clem Haskins when the University of Minnesota decided it could stand no more of his service as head men's basketball coach.
Many winced last June when university president Yudof announced that Haskins would collect $1.5 million for not showing up for work during the remainder of his three-year contract. Many winced again when Star Tribune reporters Randy Furst and Chris Ison detailed last Sunday how much Yudof knew then about Haskins' links to the academic cheating scandal in his program.
