Alberta, Alaska Cooperation Pact Aimed at Developing Gas Pipeline
Alaska and the Canadian province of Alberta have signed a wide-ranging cooperation agreement that they hope will ensure that Arctic natural gas, long isolated from distant markets, is shipped southward through yet-to-be-built pipelines.
Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles and Alberta Prime Minister Ralph Klein signed the pact on Tuesday establishing a formal working relationship.
